Websites that suck ! Bahrain AMA University .

When talking about Design & usability , our university [AMA] strongly fails in the test and falls in a bad category [ websites that suck !].

 

Lets Begin from the base structure :

  • Techs used : html , few JavaScript and flash .
  • Whoever built this crap , it was ready made template , prolly template monster .
  • Where are the Meta tags ?!!! you guys aren't serious are you ! 5-6 years since establishment and you still don’t have a proper Webby ?

where are metaz ?

Now lets have a look at the touchy feely of the site:

  • Buttons that doesn't work !
  • Bad fonts and text alignment .

Bad fonts!

  • Readability contrast , poor readability ( white background and white text ! ) 

  • white font & white backGround ?!

  • What a thumbnails !

  • bad way !

Poor student interactivity , no news section , no forums or student community (they been hacked before due to cookies bug in phpbb forums) don’t ask me how I know this ;) , dam I lost my favorite snapshots of the hacked forums !

Message for the AMA site builder, Usability in few lines :

the content is worthwhile

  • it is easy to find desired information within the site
  • pages download quickly and there are not too many "clicks" between the front page and a target page
  • the page is pleasantly, cleanly designed

    it’s already been a long time when i have seen you, a i’ve lost contact with you after graduation ,

    By the way have you Seen the newer AMA website (Yes they made another one), it’s more craper than the one you have reviewed ( the designer needs to get more graphics classes ), is just me or firefox doesn’t work well with it, one advantage that they made online gardes ( WE Waited for 4 years for this feature )

    any way, nice to see you have somthing on the web to renew lost connections.

    I just want to let other people in other countries know that AMA in the Philippines has never been considered one of the best universities. It is actually considered one of the worst and may not even deserve the title of “university”. There has been a lot of complaints (some probably court cases) against this “institution”. Here is a website that contains some of the complaints.

    Its in Filipino, but some entries are in English. You will get a clearer picture of what a monster this “institution” really is.

    Just a warning for people out there.
